The GDS 18w MP3 Tone Zone...

The following are MP3s of GDS 18W amps.

The first 3 clips are a 2-10 combo with a PRS McCarty.  The 4th clip is a 50th anniversary Strat with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge.  The Hot Rails was tapped so actually only one coil was working on this clip.  The amp was close mic'd and distance mic'd simultaneously.  The mic levels were left constant throughout this recording session.  Only the volume on the amp was changed.  The high input of the normal channel was used in all cases.

1.  PRS McCarty (neck pickup) through 2-10 18W combo at volume level 3 "Lucienne" - Click here

BTW, This MP3 clip is my interpretation of "Lucienne" which was written by Pete Haycock of the Climax Blues Band and now a solo artist.   I chose to use this tune because it is so easy to display tones ranging from clean to "on-the-edge" of distortion.  It also has a beautiful melody and a very pretty rhythm guitar part.  Pete told me recently that the song was named after his daughter.   "Lucienne" is from Pete's solo album, "Guitar and Son" which is a fantastic guitar album.  I play this song frequently with  my trio.  Check out Pete's website here...  www.petehaycock.com  Thanks Pete!

5. This little montage includes snippets from a CD called "Collage" by Celebration Church in Texas (link forthcoming).  The sections are separated by fades or song endings.  The notes are from Josh Karnes who played the guitar parts.
